A look inside ourselves as fans

The guy dig deep and come straight from the soul to talk about the the media and such that has shaped what they like and who they are, what in their geekdom has shaped their opinions, directed their likes and is the lens they look through when they talk about anything. It’s a very personal inner look at who the are in Nerd Ranks. They were hesitant to release this but decided to go through with it for our 50th numbered episode. Fandom is at the center of their beings

  • Are they doing a Bit at the end of this.
  • The Tranformers thing at the end after the Outro is weird….
  • Why is is Steven Kings stuff so filled with sex stuff, it brings things to a halt
  • Chances Are….Really Mike?
  • Is Shawshank Redemption the most watchable movie of all time
  • Wow…. Dune…. a remake, they are making a remake… it’s about time
  • Lagacy of Kain!! Vay Victus!!!

Today its both Mikes and Beau!! Where are you Pete?!!

Minisode 10-We Are Venom?

Spoiler Free-ish Review of Venom

Mike and Mike have seen Venom and Beau hasn’t…. They are gonna try to share their experience of the movie with Beau and needless to say it is confusing, as they try to explain

  • What is the Tone of the movie
  • Is the movie good and what exactly that means
  • Schrodinger’s Venom Movie
  • What is the movie about
  • What does entertained even mean anymore
  • Is the Movie Good?
  • How Venom might be a cinematic love letter to the Princess Bride
  • Pete may be missing the best moment in Mike history
  • What did we even watch?!!
  • What must’ve the pitch meeting over Venom been like

Overall I think once again Mike and Mike have damaged their collective minds on another foray into geekdom, Pete wasn’t here for this so could someone warn him.

Episode 23-80’s Cartoon Reboots and Netflix’s Voltron

80’s Cartoon Reboots, We’ve a Plenty, And Voltron is AMAZING!!!

After the amazing wrap up of this season of DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender (Now Streaming on NetFlix) the guys decided to reflect of 80’s cartoon reboots of the past and upcoming future ones as well. With such topics as…..

  • OMG!!! Voltron is soooooo Good!!! (no Spoilers)
  • OMG!!! Thundercats Roar is a travesty!
  • OMG!!!! Who were the Masters of the Universe because those ass hats could not be them…. Come on, Mecha-Neck
  • She-Ra has a dreamworks Netflix cartoon coming?!!
  • Voltron was really good
  • Nope, we completely overlook the dozen or so Transformers cartoon Reboots
  • And then there is a Ton of technical Difficulties as we introduce Mike’s Dog Bassi!!!!
  • We even lose Mike a couple of times in the recording
  • Pete is still on a journey of discovery, I think he is now involved with the Musk Mars Mission

It doesn’t stop there, Bare with us and the barking, it was impossible to remove all the barking but this got rid of most of it. Bassi did put editing to the test, we love Bassi but he is not good for the episode.

Episode 17- Cartoon talk with Gina Ippolito!!

Hey internet!

Geek of the week is back with a vengeance, and without further ado, we’re joined by Comedian, writer, director and actress Gina Ippolito!

Gina is a writer on the regular Show, which just wrapped up its eighth and final season. She’s worked on  a few other shows like The Powerpuff Girls reboot. People who are familiar with the interwebs may have seen her on as well as a member of the Screen Junkies Crew, duking it out on MovieFights, and a writer on Honest Trailers, as well as tons and tons and tons of podcasts.

It’s a full house today, as Beau, Mike, Pete, and Gina talk about Saturday Morning (the cartoon part, not the afternoon basketball part). They ponder such things as:

  • Who the Hell are Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, and why should we care about his magic root?
  • All those times Van Damme accidentally kicked people in the head.
  • Thuuundarrr The Barbarian!! vs. Hurculoids!
  • Has Gummy Berry Juice contributed to the steroid abuse scandals in professional sports?
  • Why do all the ladies (and Donatello) get stuck with the bow staffs?
  • and remember the SecTaurs??

Oh, and Sorry about the delays – Fill in the blanks with this one: (technical difficulties, Jobs, the environment, -can we use the upcoming robopocalypse ?). We’re back on regular schedule with a host of new episodes and a bunch of special guests!

You can find Gina at @GinaIppy on twitter and on her knowing is half the podcast on facebook and Itunes. The Regular Show’s all wrapped up, but you can check out  episodes on Cartoon Network!
