Episode 16- Rogue One Spoilers & Carrie Fisher

2016 Sucked!!

Glad that’s over. Unfortunately, shortly before recording our Rogue One Spoilers Review, we heard about the passing of Carrie Fisher, so we’re a little less ‘together’ than usual. With that, the crew is a little divided on Rogue One, and the state of underwear in the Star Wars Universe. Mind you, there are

SPOILERRRRRRRRS

of the last two movies (Force Awakens & Rogue One), as we discuss the movies, minute, and generally duke it out over the characters in the resistance.

As we push out the 25th posting of the show ( with 16 eps, 9 mini’s), we would just like to thank all our listeners and subscribers for sticking with us. We’re pretty excited about the next shows coming up, with interviews, reviews, and tons of other stuff, and we would love to hear your feedback. Its a labor of love, and appreciate the love in return.

On with the program, and have a happy 2017!

Episode 15: Trailers, Star Wars & Other Stocking Stuffers

Happy Holidays Everyone!, ‘Tis the Season to talk about trailers!

We have a lot of awesome stuff coming along the way, including some interviews with some cool people, and a review of the new Star Wars Movie, but first we figured we’d whet the whistle (whatever that means) and give yo some more trailer talk! We touch base on the good stuff like The mummy, Guardians of the Galaxy, Blade, Thor and the Legacy of Kaine Vampire throws his two cents in on Old Man Logan. Warning, we get a little spoilery on Dr. Strange when we talk about the infinity stones.

Oh yeah, decided to Kidnap Pete Mitchell and keep him in our basement. In between feedings we have him guesting on our episodes, and ask important things, such as:

  • Who is the hunk of Laketown, and why is he Dracula?
  • What the heck does that have to do with the Mummy?
  • Why should I watch Star Wars Rebels?

– Questions? Suggestions? Complaints? Drop us a line, and if they’re great we’ll read them over the air. mike@geekoftheweekpodcast.com beau@geekoftheweekpodcast.com

Episode 11- Dice Corner Extended!

Hey internet!- Its dice time

(Editor’s Note) In this episode, two things happen. First, we lose our audio in the beginning, so instead of replacing ten minutes of dialog with duck quacks, we said screw it and went on  like nothing happened. Then, Beau pretends he’s never role-played before and asks his Local GM (Mike) about the who’s and what’s of how RPG’s work .  As much as I’d like to envision Beau and Mike in whips, chains and leather; that is not what they are actually talking about. Oh well a girl can dream right ? Now on with the show !

Links to games we talk about:

  • Nightbane, by Palladium Books. originally called Nightspawn, this C.J. Carella tabletop Game explore
  • We also talk about many incarnations of the Starwars RPG. Our favorites are below:
    • D6- The generic rules are open source, as in free! As in, no costo moolah.
  • Robotech RPG- by Palladium Books. Where do we start? You can say its a game based on an anime, but you can also say its a wartime game about perseverance under impossible odds. The game series is alive with new books coming out every year and a cool board game called Robotech RPG Tactics.
  • HOL-Its funny, just read it.

Music on the dice segment is Critical Hit, by No More Kings. Follow Lead Singer  @daspetey for cartoons , claymations & updates on the new album- Thanks Pete!

Ending music  is See Ya later by our boy  Adrian (KO). Check out Life is Suite Music – for new releases by KO and his Crew of awesome artists.

Minisode 2: Attack of the Box Office

GOTW Minisode 2!

We have some cool stuff coming up in a few days, but in the meantime, we’re doing the obligatory StarWars Talk.

Must we say it?  I mean come on, I think about a quarter of the worlds population already saw it a few times already. *Sigh* So, for the other 3/4ths of the world:

MASSIVE SPOILER  WARNING!!!

There, we warned you.
