Cyberpunk Red Rpg review is finally here! I know it took awhile but the guys are back after a 6 month hiatus and it’s just right for them to start up with their first love…. Roleplaying Games!!!! Cyberpunk 2077 is around the corner and the corresponding RPG Cyberpunk Red will release… um according to their website “When it’s ready” okay. But the Jump start set for red did release aaaand , at the time of this recording the guys didn’t have it so they are gonna just talk about Cyberpunk.

  • Haven’t we done this before
  • Time in RPGs can be a problem
  • They ran Cyber 2020 on New Years Eve?! But you’ll hear about that later in a different episode
  • True Nerds, could’ve partied hard but instead game tested an RPG
  • When is Cyberpunk 2077 coming out
  • These guys don’t talk about RPGs enough
  • They took a really long vacation….. nobody reads this stuff

Episode 36-Daunting Fandoms

Fandoms…. There is a lot of them

Fandoms come in many colors, shapes and niches… Some of them running so long you have to wonder how one can be interested in all of them. Today the guys talk about big established fandoms that folks just find so big that they’re just not interested enough to get into.

  • Fandoms are for fun not homework
  • Mainstream comics (Marvel/DC) are just really long and open ended
  • How much Warhammer is too much Warhammer
  • Dragonball Super just released and amazingly fun movie
  • How much Dragon Ball is there?
  • So we have Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Heroes Etc…
  • When is Doctor Who going to end… Never duh

Today we have Just the two Mikes chatting it up

Suggestions? Complaints- Drop us a line, and if they’re awesome we’ll read them over the air. mike@geekoftheweekpodcast.com beau@geekoftheweekpodcast.com

Episode 11- Dice Corner Extended!

Hey internet!- Its dice time

(Editor’s Note) In this episode, two things happen. First, we lose our audio in the beginning, so instead of replacing ten minutes of dialog with duck quacks, we said screw it and went on  like nothing happened. Then, Beau pretends he’s never role-played before and asks his Local GM (Mike) about the who’s and what’s of how RPG’s work .  As much as I’d like to envision Beau and Mike in whips, chains and leather; that is not what they are actually talking about. Oh well a girl can dream right ? Now on with the show !

Links to games we talk about:

  • Nightbane, by Palladium Books. originally called Nightspawn, this C.J. Carella tabletop Game explore
  • We also talk about many incarnations of the Starwars RPG. Our favorites are below:
    • D6- The generic rules are open source, as in free! As in, no costo moolah.
  • Robotech RPG- by Palladium Books. Where do we start? You can say its a game based on an anime, but you can also say its a wartime game about perseverance under impossible odds. The game series is alive with new books coming out every year and a cool board game called Robotech RPG Tactics.
  • HOL-Its funny, just read it.
